Check-in will begin at 9:30AM
Fall Open House is perfect for students who want to learn what it takes to become a part of the rich legacy and tradition of Howard University. At Open House, you and your family will have the opportunity to talk with current Howard students, faculty, and staff. The University’s best student representatives will lead you on tours of our beautiful hilltop campus. Our admission staff will be on hand to answer your questions, guide you through the application process, and help you to discover all that Howard has to offer you. The program begins in Cramton Auditorium at 10am followed by our “HU College Fair” where all of our undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs are invited to participate. Following the college fair, our guests are invited to stay for the football game where our Howard University Bison take on the Delaware State Hornets. Open House guests will be provided with tickets to the game.
Visit Washington D.C.
Washington D.C. is a unique and cosmopolitan city that consistently ranks as a top international destination. Find additional information about exploring the city below. For a list of partner hotels, please see here.
There are a plethora of dining options conveniently located near Howard University’s campus. Georgia Avenue, historic U Street, Adams Morgan, and Downtown D.C. all offer a variety of local and international cuisines. The hardest part is choosing where to go!
For those interested in purchasing official HU merchandise, the Howard University Bookstore, aka “The HUB,” will be in operation during Open House. If you would like to extend your shopping beyond campus, there are shopping centers in nearby Georgetown, Pentagon City, and Chevy Chase, just to name a few.
The month of October is a great time to visit Washington D.C. Summer’s humid afternoons are gone, leaving sunny and comfortable days to tour some of the District’s world-class attractions. If you are planning to stay in the area for the weekend, take the opportunity to visit the free Smithsonian museums and zoo, attend a show or concert at the Kennedy Center, hike at Great Falls Park, explore Mount Vernon, be intrigued at the International Spy Museum, or visit national monuments like the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Lincoln Memorials!
