WASHINGTON (November 23, 2015) – The Howard University Choir, directed by Eric O. Poole, will present the Annual Christmas Concert sponsored by the College of Arts and Sciences, Division of Fine Arts and the Office of Choirs and Bands. The concert will feature classic Christmas carols, holiday songs, spirituals, and an accompanying orchestra. The choir will perform a series of compositions and arrangements: Handel’s “And the Glory,” William L. Dawson’s “Hail Mary,” Dan Forrest’s setting of “The First Noel,” and Stacey V. Gibbs' “See Dat Babe.”  The event is free and open to the public. Monetary contributions towards the production of this concert are appreciated.

Background information:

The choir, comprised of students, faculty, staff and alumni, is recognized by many as a national treasure and performs for all major convocations and functions at the University. The choir has performed in 17 countries on five continents. The Christmas concert is a long-standing tradition at Howard University and regularly features performances and commentary from notable Howard alumni, including Phylicia Rashad and Roberta Flack.
