Julia Shalongo-Shandje Ndinelago holds a bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of Namibia. She has three years’ experience in teaching and two years’ experience in lecturing English for international students at the University of Namibia. She currently teaches History to high-school learners. She was responsible for having the master’s degree in English Literature implemented into the University of Namibia's curriculum. Julia is also an author, having had her first work published in her second year of university. Her latest book was published in 2014. Julia represented Namibia at the SADC Poetry Festival while she was a third-year student. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington Fellowship, Julia will use the experience, networking, and knowledge she will obtain in to help young Namibians. She believes that they have the seeds from which Africa's new blossoms will grow.
