WASHINGTON, DC - House Democratic Whip Steny H. Hoyer (MD) will join Congressional Black Caucus Chair G. K. Butterfield (NC), Chair of the Whip’s Task Force on Poverty, Income Inequality, and Opportunity, Congresswoman Barbara Lee (CA), and Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (DC) for a roundtable discussion with students from Howard University on Tuesday, October 20, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The discussion will focus on the damaging impacts that arbitrary sequester spending cuts have on minority communities, including cuts to Pell grants, and the need to reach a bipartisan budget agreement that replaces these cuts.
