Winnie Griffin Zakayo
Winnie Zakayo has over two years of experience in electrical engineering with an emphasis on design installation for public and private institutions. Currently, Winnie is an Engineer trainee at a private engineering and environmental management consultancy firm called FBNE Limited. Here, she focuses on preparation of proposals, designs and specifications, administration of tender documentations, and negotiations and managing of contracts in her respective field. She also volunteered for a year as a Tutorial Assistant at Arusha Technical College, where she taught diploma students basic electricity and electronic modules. Winnie holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. She is also a registered Graduate Engineer and a member of the Structured Engineers Apprenticeship Program, working her way to become a Registered Professional Engineer. Winnie is motivated to see young girls excelling in education, especially in science subjects. She hopes to someday witness them bridging the gap between men and women in the field. Winnie plans to continue mobilizing young girls to pursue the engineering field. This will be achieved through public speaking in schools and networking with institutions promoting well-being of youth, as well as being a role model to them.
