Aafke Kinemo (MBChB) has a year’s experience working in the Ministry of Health as an assistant coordinator for key populations at the National AIDS Control Program. She coordinates trainings for health care providers in the provision of key population-friendly services, and coordinates HIV preventive care and treatment services for key populations. She also mentors the youth in her community and is an instigator advocating for quality education. She will be joining a Master’s program in Community Health and aims to apply her medical knowledge to dispel myths and promote health in her community. After the Fellowship, she intends to continue her work in public health aiming to reduce HIV infections to zero and ensure equitable access to health services, free of stigma and discrimination. She also plans to build the capacity of schools in her villages so that all children, but especially girls, can enjoy the quality education they deserve.
