HEERF Funding Disbursement

As a follow-up to the communication sent by President Frederick on Oct. 20, we are writing to confirm that eligible students have been awarded a grant under the Federal Higher Education Relief Fund (HEERF). The grant will be posted to student accounts and will not be applied against any balance due.

For context, this is the third round of student funding distributed by the University in support of student financial relief from pandemic-related hardships. More than $38 million in need-based financial support has been distributed to students since March 2020.

A total of 11,949 students will receive an average disbursement amount of $834, which will vary based on reported economic standing. Students who have signed up for direct deposit will receive payment this week, and others who have not registered banking information will receive checks by mail to permanent addresses currently on file in BisonWeb.

There are 2,400 students who have not updated their banking information in Bison Web. This will result in your checks being mailed to your permanent place of residence. This is not ideal, as the US Postal Service has experienced significant delays in service delivery times. Please update your banking information so that we can minimize the number of checks that need to be mailed.
