HEERF Fund Grant Access

The Office of the Bursar has been receiving questions about how the HEERF grant refund appears on your bill. We hope that this explanation will assist in saving you time by avoiding a call or visit to the Office of the Bursar and the Office of Financial Aid.

There are two columns on your student account that are labeled “charge” and “payment.” The HEERF grant is initially posted as a credit in the payment column. When the money is “refunded” to you, it posts as a debit under the charge column in a second, separate transaction.

The next step of the process involves a review by the University’s treasurer, who uploads the refund file to the bank. Depending on who you bank with, you may have already seen your refund in your bank account.

This zero balance does not mean that your HEERF payment was posted and taken away. We hope that this clarifies any confusion.
